Trevor Noah, Burna Boy, Wizkid Ride The Grammys

The coming 63rd Grammy Awards taking place in Los Angeles next year January 21, 2021, is slated to be hosted by Daily Show host and South African comedian, Trevor Noah.

In an effort to show inclusivity, the Grammys recently renamed the international category of Best World Music Album to Best Global Music

That new category, Nigerian afrobeat singer Burna Boy is nominated alongside Tuareg desert rock group Tinariwen, NYC afrobeat outfit Antibalas, Brazilian-American Bebel Gilberto, and British-Indian sitar player Anoushka Shankar. 

Burna Boy’s previous album, African Giant, was also nominated at the 62nd Grammy Awards for ‘Best World Music Album’, which he lost to Angélique Kidjo. Nigerian singer Wizkid has also been nominated alongside Beyonce for the Best Video category for their song Brown Skin Girl.
