Tragedy! 30 Nigerian Soldiers Killed As Boko Haram Ambush Borno State Army Base

With more than 20,000 innocent lives wasted, thousands more maimed, livelihood ruined and over two million displaced from their native lands, the mystifying horror continues in Africa’s most populous country with fresh reports of carnage yet again

Past Thursday evening saw 30 soldiers join the gruesome body-count list when the now Isis-Affiliated Muslim Jihadist terror group Boko Haram overran a military base located at the northeastern region of the country close to the Niger border

Scores of jihadists in trucks and heavy weaponry stormed the base at Zari village in northern Borno briefly seizing it after a fierce battle and killing at least 30 soldiers, sources alleged

The overwhelmed troop was forced to temporary retreat before backup arrived a source stated in anonymity. Boko Haram carted away weapons and military equipment before they were finally pushed out of the base by troops with aerial support, said a second military source who gave a similar death toll

The jihadists are believed to have attacked the base from the nearby Garunda village, where 17 troops were killed and 14 injured in an attack on another military base last month, the sources said
